On November 10, 1959 the Philadelphia Wariors would beat the New York Knicks 126-125 at Convention Hall in Philadelphia.
He was beat up pretty good that night in his SIXTH (6

) NBA game of his professional career.
Wilt scored 39 points and 43 rebounds for a new club record.
Wilt was quoted as saying after the game, “Everybody says to knock the other guy off the court. That’s not my way.
I just want to play my normal game.
I don’t want trouble. But if it keeps up like this, I guess I’ll have to punch somebody in the mouth.”
Additional top scorers for the Warriors were Paul Arizin – 26, Tom Gola – 19, Woody Sauldsberry – 17.
Top scoring leaders for the Knicks were Willie Nauls with 26 points and 13 rebounds, Ron Sobie with 26, Jack George had 19.
This must have been quite a game to witness.
