Description
Featured in this auction is a beautiful pottery cabinet bowl made by Haeger. This bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. Apologies for the light reflections in the photos. This piece is unmarked but is identified in the reference guide "The House of Haeger 1914-1944" by Joe and Joyce Paradis as shape #E-401 from the 1930s. The glaze on the base was ground to level it; however, this piece still does not sit perfectly flat. Stilt pulls are visible. A previous owner has also written on the base with what looks like grease pencil (faded). This piece is almost 3-1/2" tall, just over 4" wide at the shoulder, and 2-1/2" wide at the mouth. The shape of this bowl resembles a round, carved melon with a collared rim and features the gorgeous geranium leaf green frosted matte drip glaze that Haeger was known for. This piece is a little more semi-matte. The finish produces a gorgeous mottled effect both inside and out. This little bowl is presumed to have been gently used but is very clean both inside and out. Check out all 7 photos! This stunning bowl would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet. It would also be perfect for any Haeger or American art pottery collector.
