EXTREMELY RARE VINTAGE 1970 TUCSON TOROS BASEBALL PROGRAM & GAME DAY ROSTER - PLUS JULY 29, 1970 NEWSPAPER CLIPPING
. GAME DAY ROSTER - TOROS VS. PHOENIX.
Hiram "Hi" Corbett, a former Arizona State Senator, helped to bring the Pacific Coast League to Tucson, and in recognition, the Randolph Municipal Baseball Park in Tucson was eventually renamed Hi Corbett Field. The Tucson Toros began play in 1969.  The name Toros was suggested by name-the-team contest winner Clarence Dupnik, who went on to become the Sheriff of Pima County, Arizona.
From 1969 through 1972, the Tucson Toros were the Triple-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
This Program is in excellent condition, with slight creasing (see pictures). The Score Card was never filled in. It is a wonderfully clean Program. The artwork is bright and crisp.
The Program measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11" and contains approximately 26 pages.
This Program includes a list of the 1970 Pacific Coast League Teams and their Affiliation Team, the Tucson Toros 1970 PCL Home Schedule and the Tucson Toros 1970 PCL Road Schedule.
There is a great photo of the Sarasota Florida complex - the scene of Tucson Toros' Spring Training.
There are some nice photos of the 1970 Pacific Coast League Managers, many of whom went on to be Major League Managers/Coaches, such as:
Gordon Maltzberger
Charlie Fox
Don Zimmer
Chuck Tanner
Tom Lasorda
Whitey Lockman
Bob Wellman
Al Federoff
What a wonderful piece of Baseball history this is. It would make a wonderful addition to any Baseball collection.
